New Year's Day: Reflecting upon 2012, and planning 2013...

Susannah Conway Workbook 1 When the Christmas and New Year's Eve revelry has come to an end, and we've tidied up and looked at the pictures of friends and family enjoying themselves, we like to find a little 'me time' to reflect upon the year and think about what we're going to do over the 12 months ahead. But we don't really like heavy duty New Year resolutions, as they can quite easily turn into restrictions if the months ahead take an unexpected direction!

That's why we've taken a more flexible approach to the whole thing, with the help of author and The Simple Things columnist Susannah Conway, whose e-courses have proved to be a very popular way for folks to get a little perspective on where they've been, who they are, and where they're going!

As a special treat to help you take stock of 2012 and explore where you want 2013 to take you, Susannah’s shared her Unravelling the Year Ahead 2013 Workbook and 2013 Monthly Planner with us all — just click on the links to download the PDFs.

“I really hope you’ll take a bit of time this month to print out the workbook and work your way through it," says Susannah. "I’ve been reading back what I wrote last year and it’s so illuminating to see where I was in my head and heart and what I hoped to call in — and what came and what didn’t. There were quite a few surprises in 2012 (living in London? Didn’t see that coming this time last year) so I’m excited to see what 2013 brings. We can plot our path to a certain extent but it’s also fun to leave space for the stuff we can’t possibly imagine right now. I don’t make resolutions but I do choose a word to guide my course through the year, so there’s space for that in the workbook, too. Writing down your intentions is incredibly powerful, so find an hour to yourself, roll up your metaphorical sleeves and dig in!”

Thanks, Susannah!

The Simple Things wish you a very Happy New Year – let's make 2013 really special!
