Sponsored post | Your Glass Champions

Earlier this year, we asked you to nominate your favourite brands using glass packaging responsibly. Here are a few of our favourites…

Back in January, we teamed up with Friends of Glass UK – the community that celebrates glass packaging – to ask for your favourite brands which are championing glass packaging. A sustainable, healthy and stylish choice, glass is pure, endlessly recyclable and reusable, making it ideal for packaging across the food, drink, health, beauty and cleaning industries.

Keen to give your Glass Champions a metaphorical round of applause, you replied in your droves. Here are just a few that stood out.

WELEDA

Celebrating over 100 years of its natural and nourishing beauty and holistic health products, Weleda – the original green beauty brand – has turned to glass packaging for several of its iconic line-up. Made from 85% recycled glass, Weleda’s distinctive green glass is sustainable and can be recycled indefinitely. weleda.co.uk

MILK & MORE

Milk & More has been delivering fresh British milk in refillable glass bottles
for generations, bringing a little magic
to mornings across the UK. Today, the family-owned business delivers from
31 depots, working with over 130 British dairy farmers and reusing more than
55 million returnable glass bottles a year. A modern take on the traditional milk round, Milk & More delivers milk, eggs, juice and essentials straight to the door by 7am, with no minimum order and
no delivery charge. milkandmore.co.uk

BOLD BEAN CO

Once a bean avoider, Amelia Christie-Miller had a life affirming moment when heirloom butter beans were all that she had in the cupboard. Rather than resent this humble food source she found herself spooning them straight from the jar, eyes closed, and totally immersed in the moment. Fast forward to 2021, and Amelia launched Bold Bean Co intent on making the world as obsessed with beans as she was. Keen for the packaging to be as sustainable as the beans inside, she opted for glass, which preserves the beans for longer and can be reused or recycled afterwards. boldbeanco.com

PURDY & FIGG

Back in 2018, best friends Purdy Rubin and Charlotte Figg created Counter Clean, a natural multi-surface cleaner infused with essential oils. This hero product needed hero packaging, and
the glass Bottle for Life was born. Durable and versatile, this eye-catching brown glass bottle can be filled with a concentrated Counter Clean refill – also available in glass bottles – and topped up with tap water for an effective multi-surface cleaner with a spa-like scent. Available online as a subscription service with frequent new scents, or as a one-time purchase. purdyandfigg.com

Launched in 2003, Gü desserts never fail to delight the taste buds. Created from carefully chosen ingredients and layered for flavour and texture, their much-loved ramekins are made from at least 54% recycled glass, and are fully recyclable. However, Gü encourages repurposing them – from pet bowls to plant pots, there’s a community of Gü lovers sharing their crafty ideas online. gudesserts.com

NEAL’S YARD REMEDIES

Loved for over 40 years, Neal’s Yard Remedies has been harnessing the power of natural, organic botanicals, herbs and essential oils to produce a nourishing range of skincare, bath & body and wellbeing products. What really makes the brand stand out is its distinctive blue glass packaging, which not only looks great, but the blue pigment shields against sunlight, helping protect and preserve the precious natural ingredients within. After use, the jars and bottles can be fully recycled or reimagined in a new form, perhaps as candlestick holders or vases for fresh blooms. nealsyardremedies.com
