Sponsored post | Soak Up The Alpine Splendour

Iona Bower November 12, 2025

The Austrian Alps offers serene spas, Adrenaline activities, great food and spectacular scenery, all in one place

At this time of year, it’s exciting to look ahead and make plans. If the festive season has got you hankering after a further dose of Alpine beauty, while escaping the everyday and looking after your
own wellbeing, then a break at the 4*S TAUERN SPA Zell am See – Kaprun, in the heart of SalzburgerLand, may be the place to recharge your batteries.

Set amidst a stunning Austrian glacier, mountains and lakes, the TAUERN SPA Hotel is a feat of modern architecture, rising from the Alpine landscape, with all rooms enjoying unobstructed views
of the surrounding panorama. Covering over 20,000m², the spectacular Spa Water & Sauna World features 12 indoor and outdoor pools, including a glass skyline pool and an outdoor salt pool with underwater music, while a session in one of the 10 sauna and steam rooms will help you to relax and ease away any aches or stresses. Also included at the resort is a state-of-the-art fitness studio, the Kidstein Children’s Spa, and, for a little pampering, the Alpin Vital Spa & Cosmetics, with 17 spacious rooms for massage and beauty treatments.

After a day at the spa, you can cosy up in front of the hotel’s open fire ahead of dinner at one of the resort restaurants, serving both traditional Austrian cuisine and international favourites, and all featuring sustainable, seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients.

Should you ever want to leave the resort, there are countless trips within the region. With Austria’s oldest National Park, Hohe Tauern National Park, on your doorstep, there’s literally something to suit all tastes. From active pursuits, including hiking and biking in summer and skiing and snowshoeing in winter, to calmer pastimes, such as yoga retreats or visiting the mesmerisingly crystal clear waters of Lake Zell, there’s something guaranteed to take your breath away. Hotel staff will be only too happy to assist with any planning of excursions or sports equipment rentals, and can help organise the Zell am See – Kaprun guestcard to make the most of the region.

Whether you’re after something active or actively tranquil, the TAUERN SPA Zell am See – Kaprun will have you returning year after year.

The Simple Things

Taking time to live well

We celebrate slowing down, enjoying what you have, making the most of where you live, enjoying the company of of friends and family, and feeding them well. We like to grow some of our own vegetables, visit local markets, rummage for vintage finds, and decorate our home with the plunder. We love being outdoors and enjoy the satisfaction that comes with a job well done.
